School Licenses

  • For classroom teachers, schools, and school tutors and interventionists: Each program’s School License is a 1-year School License for a single school location. After that year, continued use requires annual license renewal. Renewal prices are subject to change without notice. For one year from date of purchase or renewal, the 1-year School License allows the school’s administrators, teachers, tutors, and interventionists to access the program and make copies for their use and student-use within that school location. A school is defined as a single, physical location with one or more administrators and employed or volunteer educators whose primary duty is to instruct students in groups at that location. We define a school tutor or interventionist as a school employee or volunteer whose primary duty is to provide literacy support for students at that school.
  • If a student’s parent or legal guardian wishes to access the full program, including all educator materials and resources, please direct them to the Rooted in Language Shop to purchase the program for their own use.

Educator Classes

  • Educator classes are licensed for a single teacher, school tutor, or school interventionist only.
  • A classroom teacher, school tutor, or school interventionist enrolled in the Foundations for Teaching Reading, Writing & Spelling educator course may print materials only for their own use and their own classroom or tutored students for a one year from date of purchase or renewal. After one year, continued use requires annual license renewal, offered at a discounted price. Renewal prices are subject to change without notice. The course and materials may not be shared with other educators or classrooms, even within the same school location.
  • Please direct other educators to the Rooted in Language Shop to purchase our educator classes for their own use.
  • School group pricing: If your school has three or more classroom teachers, tutors, or interventionists who would benefit from the professional development provided by a Rooted in Language educator class, contact us for group pricing. Karli, Homeschool Parent and Former 2nd Grade Public School Reading Teacher
Thank you for unteaching and then reteaching all of us reading teachers out there.

I wanted to send you guys the biggest thank you for everything you are doing for struggling learners and their parents. You are a true gift, and you will never know how much you have changed the life of my struggling learner and in turn changed mine. I taught 2nd grade reading in a school district that was DEEP into F&P during my teaching career. I then decided to stay at home with my kids and we eventually began homeschooling. My oldest two boys were able to catch onto and love reading through this whole language approach (thank goodness because it was all I knew!). My third son struggled from the beginning with what I know now was all signs pointing to severe dyslexia. I didn't know where to even begin... until I found you guys! It has taken him almost 5 grueling years to complete all 4 Levels of Pinwheels.... BUT HE DID IT!!! And the best part is he absolutely LOVES to read and narrate and discuss books! He still has a lot of work to do in his writing, but we have focused greatly on that for the past few months and he is making huge leaps there, too. It brings my husband and I to absolute tears when we see him pick up a 300 page book, take a deep breath, and transport to a world we never ever thought he would get to participate in. We will never be able to thank you guys enough. Throughout his five years, we were also shown the huge gaps that were in the foundation of my older two boys. Just listening to Pinwheels everyday taught them so many things that they never learned in their K & 1st grade years at public school. And on top of all that!!! My 6 year old boy has completed Pinwheels 1 & 2 and just started Pinwheels 3. He is not a struggling learner and it is a totally different experience to do Pinwheels with him. He is soaring and growing so fast because of the amazing foundation that it is laying. I cannot wait to start Pinwheels with their 2 year old baby sister when it gets to be her turn. Your hard work has completely changed our homeschool and given me the confidence to work alongside all of my kids at their own pace and through their own struggles. I would recommend Pinwheels (and all of your products) to absolutely anyone, anytime. The gift you have given my son is absolutely irreplaceable, and I am forever grateful. Thank you for unteaching and then reteaching all of us reading teachers out there. I have attached a picture of my Pinwheels graduate, current Pinwheels user, and future Pinwheels user just to show you the joy you bring by sharing your skills with the world. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Nothing Else Like It!

I would highly highly highly recommend this program, I have not found anything like it. I am a former public school teacher; one reason we chose to homeschool was to teach our child to read. I went to countless trainings about how to teach reading but there wasn't a true comprehensive ELA program out there that taught the concepts together, with fidelity, and in a scope and sequence based on the research of reading and language acquisition for children in a developmentally appropriate way....until I found Pinwheels. I can't recommend it enough and the training videos are incredible if teaching your child to read is something new to you. Also you only need this one program for all of ELA....think reading, phonics, writing, handwriting, grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and other programs I see get purchased and put together. I love the move to the course set up online to print by unit, it felt a lot more easy to organize.

A big ole THANK YOU

A big ole THANK YOU to Rooted in Language for the Pinwheels curriculum! We live in Florida and just had our annual evaluation. Our evaluator was blown away with Pinwheels. She has been a teacher and evaluator for 20+ years, but said she has never seen a better curriculum used for kindergarten language arts. “Your son will remember this for the rest of his life. These lessons are so hands on and multimodal!” Looking forward to starting Year 2 of Pinwheels next week!

I love companies that are efficient in responding to emails - it’s reassuring to know that there will be support once we start the curriculum - we have it all printed and a week in are loving it!

I am so impressed with Pinwheels Year 2! We just encountered dropping the Silent-e when adding a vowel suffix. The way the chapters are structured internally and leading one to the other really shows the great value in building writing right alongside reading. And using morphology right alongside phonics! And it shows that , because language is complex, Pinwheels is also sophisticated and rich . . . that is, complex!
