✨ GREAT NEWS ✨ Rooted in Language has entered final negotiations for a sale of the company.
Our goal for this transfer of ownership is to allow you continuous, uninterrupted access to all our products and classes into the future. We'll share updates here and on social media as we finalize the details.
To meet our goal of uninterrupted service, our shop will remain open for purchases and downloads. Access to courses and videos will continue both before and after the transfer of ownership.
Orders, downloads, educator courses, and school licenses will remain accessible through the purchaser's Rooted Shop Account.

Customer support will be available most weekdays through our website Help Chat and help email. As a small team, responses may take 2-4 business days.

Rooted Community
The Rooted Community Facebook group will continue to be an active group, moderated by the new Rooted in Language ownership team.
It is a place for meaningful discussions related to literacy, reading and writing difficulties, and the application of Rooted in Language's tools, methods, and deep learning philosophies, along with the implementation of RiL's curricula and instructional materials.
We are grateful for the vibrant community that’s grown here and encourage you to continue actively engaging in the group while on your journey of teaching your children reading, writing, and spelling.
Common Questions
Will my Foundations Course subscription and access end in June 2026?
No, your access will not end in June 2026. We're pleased to share that monthly Foundations course subscriptions will continue uninterrupted during our final business sale negotiations and into the future.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Rooted Shop Account under My Profile & Subscriptions, which is also where you will find your subscription renewal date.
Will Pinwheels Year 3 be published?
Following the business closure announcement in July 2025, development of Pinwheels Year 3 ceased. The Rooted Crew has shared ideas for Pinwheels Year 3 during business sale negotiations, but any future development will ultimately be determined by a new owner.
Will the RiL Letter Tiles App continue to be available and supported?
The RiL Letter Tiles app was created by Cognichine, which is owned and operated by a family that uses RiL products. Cognichine will continue to offer and support the RiL Letter Tiles app.
Will the current Rooted Crew still be part of Rooted in Language?
Once the sale of the business is finalized, the current Rooted Crew — Rita, Tracy, Claire, Moira, and Linda — will be moving on to other endeavors. A new team under new ownership will step in, committed to supporting and serving you well.
