Grade Level: U.S. Kindergarten ages 5-6
Based on the Science of Reading, Pinwheels incorporates all areas of language arts and includes unique step-by-step lessons that are engaging and multisensory. Pinwheels is also appropriate for use with older learners who struggle.
Year 1 is appropriate for the learner who:
- is new to reading, writing, and spelling
- does not know the primary sounds of all letters
- does not know most short vowel sounds
- cannot read and spell most simple three-sound words
